Effectively meeting the protective needs of today’s ever evolving threat zones and the increasing wind loads of natural events has become very difficult.

Utilizing the expertise of materials, adhesive formulation, development and manufacturing capabilities within Berry’s Engineered Protective Systems group and the materials and blast analytics from the Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) of the US Army Corps of Engineers, a highly innovative product has been brought to market.

Materials and Construction

X-FLEX™ is constructed of scrim and film to provide both strength and ductility. It features a dynamic peel-n-stick adhesive which affords exceptional bond performance to diverse and rough surfaces. The unique adhesive system is designed to absorb significant energy during a blast event in conjunction with the overall flexibility of the material system.

Demonstrated Performance in Full-Scale Testing

Subjected to a range of testing from 1/3rd scale to full-scale blast loads X-FLEX™ Blast Protection System has repeatedly demonstrated its high-performance properties. The elasticity of the materials and the strength of the adhesive afford X-FLEX™ highly unique flexibility and strength.

Simple, Effective and Continuous Protection

Manufactured using lightweight composite material, X-FLEX™ is conveniently provided on rolls which are easily transported and managed by the end user. X-FLEX™ is easy to install - a critical feature for the forward deployed warfighter. The engineered simplicity of the easy to use X-FLEX™ allows the product to be applied without the need for electricity or specialty application equipment. It’s user and environmentally friendly attributes allow for installation without cumbersome or costly safety gear.
